Before installing eSync, verify that all computers where you will install the software meet these requirements:
Windows 8, Windows 7 with all Windows updates installed
Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012
1GB HDD Space
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET 4.0 installed
Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable installed
If you are installing eSync in your practice for the first time, the system will attempt a Gateway install. The eSync Gateway must be installed on the computer that contains your practice management database and installed before any Client versions. It handles all eSync communications and processing. The Gateway installation registers your computer so that the exchange of information can take place. In order for a computer to act as the eSync Gateway, it must meet the following requirements:
Contains the Practice Management Database
Maintains Internet Access (Recommended 10mbps download speed and 5mbps upload speed)
Is always running
Meets G4/G5 System Requirements (For Processor/RAM/HDD)
Ports 80 and 808 open (TCP) on all computers
Firewall exceptions added for Digital Highway Server Service and Deployment Application on all machines
Important note: The eSync gateway must be installed on the Dentrix database server, and your system’s firewall must allow inbound and outbound access on port 808. Please consult your IT technician prior to scheduling an eSync installation.
